Step-by-step Preparation Instructions for Nick’s Original Coney Island Hot Dog Sauce ®
1. In a 3+ quart sauce pot, bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
2. Stir in contents of packet, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes.
3. Add ½ lb extra, extra lean ground beef — raw (7% to 15% fat ideal).
4. Raise heat and thoroughly pulverize beef with (manual) potato masher. Continue mashing beef until contents come to a full boil.
5. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 3 minutes.
Makes 16 fl. Oz — enough to generously top 8 hot dogs.
